I'll assume you're familiar with the character "Dash" from the Incredibles (I's been awhile) for this story.

One of my kids today was supercharged--talked non-stop, hyper, etc. They were all working at their seats, talking amongst themselves, when I said, "Please find the word dash and glue it in the right place."

All of the sudden, Hyperkid yelled, "HEY! I'm wearing Dash underwear!"

The entire class (seriously, even my kids with ADHD) turned around to look at Hyperkid. No one knew what to say, but finally one managed to say,

"B, you really shouldn't say that to girls. Or your teacher."

Your blog is really cute :) I've added you to my list! P.S. I see that you teach in Indiana? Where if you don't mind? I teach in Indiana as well. :)

Hi. I just found you, and I love this 'hyperkid' story. I have 'hyperkid' in my class too, but he's a senior and 18! Ha. Anyway, I'm going to follow. I love little people stuff after I spent all day in high school land. Come visit me sometime. I can give you all the 'exciting' scoop from ND teacher land. :)

I just love this! It brings back memories of my son when he was 5. He is now 18.

This is too funny. I had a Hyperkid like this last year. He was super hyper one day. One of the other kids stopped in the middle of class and said, " ____, did you forget to take your medicine this morning? Cause you really need it.". I died laughing. Hyperkid was speechless. Sad thing is, he doesn't take medication for hyperness. We had to regroup for a minute to finish class.
