M: Last night it was my dog's birthday!
Me: Oh, how nice. Did you do anything special for your dog?
M: No! She can't blow out candles, so we didn't do anything for her birthday.

hee hee... i've done that before. you try and be all nice about their story etc and then they look at you as if "don't be stupid! a dog can't blow out candles" love it!
